Three-dimensional imaging and cone beam volume CT in C-arm angiography with flat panel detector.
We evaluated a new 3D angiography system with a flat panel detector (FPD) for its capabilitiy to acquire volume sets during a single rotation scan and to reconstruct high spatial resolution three-dimensional and cross sectional images, namely cone beam volume computed tomography (CBVCT) images. Present status of the technique, advantages and potential applications are discussed.
متن کاملEvaluation of sparse-view reconstruction from flat-panel-detector cone-beam CT.
Flat-panel-detector x-ray cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is used in a rapidly increasing host of imaging applications, including image-guided surgery and radiotherapy. The purpose of the work is to investigate and evaluate image reconstruction from data collected at projection views significantly fewer than what is used in current CBCT imaging. Specifically, we carried out imaging experim...
متن کاملAn empirical method for lag correction in cone-beam CT.
Image lag degrades image quality in cone-beam CT (CBCT), resulting in contrast reduction, lack of CT number accuracy and uniformity, and skin-line artifacts. The magnitude of such degradation and the extent to which imaging performance can be improved by means of a lag correction method were investigated. Measurements were performed using a radiotherapy CBCT guidance system (Elekta Synergy XVI,...
متن کاملCircle plus Partial Helical Scan Scheme for a Flat Panel Detector-Based Cone Beam Breast X-Ray CT
Flat panel detector-based cone beam breast CT (CBBCT) can provide 3D image of the scanned breast with 3D isotropic spatial resolution, overcoming the disadvantage of the structure superimposition associated with X-ray projection mammography. It is very difficult for Mammography to detect a small carcinoma (a few millimeters in size) when the tumor is occult or in dense breast. CBBCT featured wi...
متن کاملFDK Half-Scan with a Heuristic Weighting Scheme on a Flat Panel Detector-Based Cone Beam CT (FDKHSCW)
A cone beam circular half-scan scheme is becoming an attractive imaging method in cone beam CT since it improves the temporal resolution. Traditionally, the redundant data in the circular half-scan range is weighted by a central scanning plane-dependent weighting function; FDK algorithm is then applied on the weighted projection data for reconstruction. However, this scheme still suffers the at...
